Apple Cider Vinegar
When it comes to striking the perfect pH balance for the skin, apple cider vinegar is phenomenal. It is a natural exfoliant, which keeps the skin pores clean, and an effective at-home remedy for acne scars.
Apple cider vinegar has citric, lactic, acetic, and succinic acids. Although there is a need for more confirmatory research to prove its supposed effectiveness against acne scars, it is being touted as one of the most promising ingredients.
But it is not advisable to use apple cider vinegar directly onto the breakout or its scar. It could cause severe skin burns with its high level of acidity. So, diluting the vinegar in water with two parts of honey is recommended. Apply the mixture to the affected area, let it stay for about 20 minutes, and rinse. Sensitive skin types require an even lesser amount of vinegar in the skincare formula. To be safe, dilute one part of apple cider vinegar with ten parts water. It is also imperative not to overuse this treatment; twice a day until seeing favorable results is enough.
