Enlarged Breasts in Males
Gynecomastia is an imbalance of estrogen and testosterone hormones that causes an increase in the quantity of breast gland tissue in boys and men. Sometimes, gynecomastia may affect one or both breasts unevenly. This is a growth the size of a button beneath the nip. The mass may be mobile inside the breast tissue and sensitive to the touch. Breast growth and breast lumps may affect one or both breasts.
Typically, breast enlargement results from an estrogen and testosterone imbalance. Both kinds of hormones are present in the bodies of men. Male breast enlargement may be caused by changes in the quantities of these hormones or how the body utilizes or reacts to these hormones. This may occur throughout several life periods, including birth and puberty. Due to the estrogen levels of their mothers, more than half of male babies develop breasts or breast buds. More than fifty percent of adolescent males suffer breast augmentation throughout puberty due to variable hormone levels, including decreases in testosterone and surges in estrogen. Men over the age of 50 also have gynecomastia as a result of decreasing estrogen levels, which is the opposite cause.
