High Cholesterol (Hypercholesterolemia) Symptoms & Signs You Should Know

Unsteady Gait

People with high cholesterol levels may experience instability in their gross and fine locomotor skills. While medical experts agree that high cholesterol levels don’t manifest immediately, they tend to affect different organs and organ systems over time.

Reports and studies over the years state that among the signs people must understand about having high cholesterol levels is the decline in their ability to walk, run, or perform other manual tasks efficiently. An unsteady, ungainly shuffle may indicate that the person suffers from high cholesterol levels, and there may even be a risk of the deposits blocking the circulation to the brain. If the cholesterol deposits lodge themselves near the pituitary gland, it can cause instability as the pressure will build on the gland and lead to difficulty in motor coordination. Experts also warn that an unsteady gait may also indicate the advanced stage of a serious medical condition.
