High Cholesterol (Hypercholesterolemia) Symptoms & Signs You Should Know

Dizziness

Lightheadedness can be a telltale symptom that a person might have high cholesterol levels. High cholesterol levels increase the risk of developing other medical conditions that may need immediate medical attention. Among the conditions include coronary artery disease (CAD), which can eventually lead to strokes, angina, and heart attacks.

While medical practitioners agree that having bouts of severe headaches and dizziness cannot be attributed solely to high cholesterol levels, underlying conditions such as CAD or other illnesses may manifest such episodes. In addition, as cholesterol builds up over time, doctors and other health experts have seen strange cases where cholesterol deposits manifest in unexpected areas such as the elbows, the Achilles tendon, and the eyes. As a result, experts warn that prolonged headaches and dizziness shouldn’t be taken lightly as it may indicate that cholesterol deposits may be present in the vicinity of the head and neck area, which is highly dangerous.
