Urethral Sores
If a person has a sore on their urethra, it could be herpes. The urethra is the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body. Sores on the urethra can cause pain when urinating and make it painful to sit for long periods or have sex.
These sores are usually not noticeable until a man has an outbreak of genital herpes, which can happen even if he doesn’t know he has the disease. If a person has had herpes before, it’s easy to confuse this symptom with an infection in other parts of the urinary tract (such as a urinary tract infection).
