Painful Urination
Painful urination can signify several conditions, including diseases, trauma to the area, and conditions that cause inflammation. So while it’s important to get tested for herpes if a person experiences painful urination, it’s also possible that this symptom is caused by something else entirely.
Research has shown that painful urination can be a symptom of UTIs, usually caused by bacteria traveling up from the lower urinary tract. However, there are other causes of UTIs too. So if they experience painful urination for more than one or two days at a time and it doesn’t improve after specific alternatives for UTIs, then they should see a doctor as soon as possible.
