Swollen Lymph Nodes in the Groin
The lymph nodes are bean-shaped organs throughout the body that filter out pathogens, such as viruses and bacteria. Swollen lymph nodes can indicate an infection such as herpes caused by a virus. In addition, the swollen lymph nodes may be painful and tender to the touch and feel like lumps under the skin.
This symptom is common in people with genital herpes because genital herpes outbreaks often occur in this area of the body. However, swollen lymph nodes can also be caused by other infections and must be investigated if they notice them for more than one or two days.
