Pain in the Genital Area
Pain in the genital area can be a symptom of herpes in males. However, it may also be caused by other conditions and infections.
Pain may occur when a person urinates or has sex due to friction with the penis or vagina. Pain during urination is experienced with all STDs, including male herpes, and can occur for many reasons. The most common cause is inflammation of the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder to outside the body.
This inflammation can be caused by irritation from semen or urine, an STD like chlamydia or gonorrhea, bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections, or even having sex roughly for too long.
