Lower Back Pain
This is another common symptom of herpes. It can be caused by the virus spreading to the spine and nerve roots, as well as stress, lack of sleep, and poor posture. If a person has lower back pain that does not go away after taking an over-the-counter pain reliever like aspirin or acetaminophen (Tylenol), they should consult a doctor immediately.
Back pain can be caused by several strains, sprains, and fractures. In addition, pain that radiates to the legs often indicates nerve damage. As with any back pain, if one experiences this symptom for more than two weeks or so, they should see a doctor immediately as it could indicate more severe conditions such as infection or cancer.
