Fatigue
Fatigue is a feeling of overall tiredness or reduced energy and lack of motivation. It can result from poor lifestyle choices, such as physical inactivity and unhealthy dietary regimen. Also, it’s a relatively common symptom linked to various medical conditions of different severities. If feelings of fatigue don’t disappear with proper nutrition or rest, there’s a chance that it may be due to an underlying physical or mental disorder.
Some health conditions associated with fatigue are anemia, emphysema, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, fibromyalgia, Addison’s disease, sleep disorders, kidney and liver disease, cardiovascular conditions, and COPD. Depression and anxiety may also cause fatigue. Often, the signs that you should see your doctor are if your fatigue is accompanied by a fever, unexplained loss of weight, feeling fatigued for no apparent reason, and having trouble getting sleep.
In mild cases of fatigue, it’s possible to lessen its impact on daily life and boost energy levels with specific lifestyle practices. Some of these include drinking plenty of water to remain hydrated, practicing balanced eating habits, exercising regularly, getting adequate sleep, managing stress levels, abstaining from tobacco and alcohol use, and participating in calming and relaxing activities like yoga and meditation.
