Take Painkillers
Feeling tired and having body pains are one of the initial symptoms of Hepatitis A. The body’s immune system initially fights the virus, which could lead to extreme muscle pain. That is why it is advisable to take painkillers, significantly when the pain does not subside after some time. Taking painkillers like ibuprofen or paracetamol is essential to alleviate the pain since both of these medicines block the production of prostaglandins and COX enzymes, which are responsible for promoting pain, fever, and inflammation in the body. This prevents the muscles from sending pain signals to the brain, easing the pain felt in the body.
Though ibuprofen is processed in the kidneys, paracetamols are broken down in the liver. That is why taking painkillers with paracetamol should only be based on a physician’s discretion, as the hepatitis virus attacks the liver. Since the liver is the organ responsible for breaking down substances, such as medications, Hepatitis A may weaken the liver’s function. Thus, it is essential to consult a physician when taking painkillers, such as paracetamols. Nevertheless, one may take ibuprofen painkillers as a remedy for the body pain caused by Hepatitis A.
