5 Symptoms And Early Warning Signs Of Hemorrhoids (Don’t Ignore)

Swelling Around the Anus

Most people overlook their rectum and anus until they feel an abnormality or pain. For example, swelling around the anus could signify that a person has hemorrhoids or an underlying disease that needs immediate medical attention. The large intestine’s longest portion is the colon, where the rectum is at one end. This part holds the stool before it goes out of the anus. The section that leads to the rectum and the anus is the anal canal, which comprises muscles or internal and external sphincters that control the passing or movement of the stool out of the anus.

Aside from the muscles, the anorectal area contains nerves, veins, arteries, and glands that control the sensation and flow of blood and fluid. When specific conditions exist and affect these parts, they can lead to swelling and other symptoms. See your doctor when this happens to know what caused the swelling.

Swelling in the anal area can be due to chronic (recurring) hemorrhoids. Because hemorrhoids are swollen veins in your anus and rectum, the condition can recur and not fully resolve over time. Ensure that you see your doctor to treat the symptoms of chronic hemorrhoids.
