Low-Grade Fever
Another widespread symptom of a head cold is a low-grade fever, typically around 100 to 102 degrees Fahrenheit. The fever comes with other symptoms you usually expect, and it can cause sluggishness and general pain. A low-grade fever is usually nothing to worry about, and you can take a fever reducer to combat its effects. However, it’s often better to allow yourself to rest instead of fighting the symptoms and trying to go about your day like normal. Remember that the common cold isn’t something to be taken lightly, especially if you want to bounce back immediately.
The low-grade fever usually comes a day or two after you experience other onset symptoms. In tandem with the other signs, it’s safe to say that you have a common cold, and it’s a good idea to take steps to get rid of it soon. If the low-grade fever does not go down within the next few days, even with a fever reducer, make sure to contact your doctor. It isn’t necessarily an emergency, but getting their input is a good idea.
