Alcoholism is a condition where a person becomes too dependent on alcohol intake that they can’t stop themselves from drinking alcoholic beverages throughout the day. Much like everything else in life, too much of anything can cause problems — especially with regard to alcohol. While alcohol could potentially be beneficial to the body when taken in moderation, it’s easy to get addicted to the feelings associated with alcoholic drinks. It does not help that most parties and events have alcohol, and it tends to elevate the situation and encourage excessive drinking. One of the telltale signs that someone is suffering from alcoholism comes from red, swollen hands. Those struggling with alcohol tend to have swollen hands. This is because of the nature of alcohol and its effect on the body.
If you must have alcoholic beverages, moderation is the key. However, it’s not something most people can handle on their own, so it’s a good idea to get professional help.
