Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome involves pressure on the carpal nerve over prolonged periods. Cubital tunnel syndrome is similar, only it affects the ulnar nerve, which runs from your pinky to your neck. Typically, pressure on the elbow causes the onset of cubital tunnel syndrome, though other issues can cause the condition. Repetitive movement is one of the most common, as it can eventually cause swelling that puts pressure on the nerves. Those who suffer from cubital tunnel syndrome have weakness in the hands and fingers, experiencing numbness now and again. The condition is also characterized by pain and weakness when you bend your arm. It occurs due to the pressure such an action puts on your ulnar nerve.
Similar to carpal tunnel, there are some exercises you can do to help reduce the odds of getting the condition. That said, it’s not quite as common as carpal tunnel, which means it’s not likely to be the cause of your hand numbness. However, if you notice that you suffer from hand numbness when you bend your arm, it could be a cause.
