Dehydration
Dehydration happens when the body doesn’t have enough water to function correctly. A person may become dehydrated if they don’t consume enough water. Although dehydration usually occurs in hot weather, it can also happen in cold weather with insufficient water intake. Muscles cramp up because it interferes with how well they work.
Dehydration can affect everyone, but it is hazardous for children and older adults. Vomiting and severe diarrhea are the most typical causes of dehydration in young kids. The amount of water in older persons’ bodies is naturally reduced, and they may have medical issues or take medications that make them more susceptible to dehydration.
The body’s requirement for water isn’t always accurately indicated by thirst. Many people don’t become thirsty until they are dehydrated, especially older ones. Dehydration signs and symptoms might vary by age, so drinking more water in hot weather or when sick is crucial. Dehydration symptoms include headaches, dry skin, chills and fever, bad breath, and a craving for sugary foods.
