Infertility
Infertility is generally defined as the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected sexual activity. The primary sign of infertility is the inability to become pregnant. There may be no other symptoms. Occasionally, infertile women may experience irregular or missing menstruation. In rare circumstances, males with infertility may exhibit hormone-related symptoms, such as alterations in hair growth or sexual function.
The infection can travel to many parts of the body when it comes to sexually transmitted illnesses, such as gonorrhea. Gonorrhea that affects the reproductive system, also known as urogenital gonorrhea, can result in infertility in both men and women. In females, the infection can extend to the uterus and fallopian tubes, frequently resulting in pelvic inflammatory disease. Since PID is significantly connected with scarring of the fallopian tubes, it dramatically increases the risk of infertility and pregnancy difficulties. Infection can induce inflammation of the epididymis in men or the line that connects the testicles to the sperm duct. If left untreated, epididymal inflammation can hinder sperm maturation, resulting in infertility.
