Headache
Headache is a common symptom of gluten intolerance, but many other factors can also cause it. Gluten intolerance can cause headaches through the inflammation and irritation of the gut lining, affecting the brain and nervous system. If a person has been diagnosed with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease, they may experience headaches due to the body’s response to gluten consumption.
Headache is one of the most common symptoms of celiac disease, along with fatigue and abdominal pain or bloating (both discussed in this article). According to Celiac Disease Foundation statistics, these symptoms are often linked to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which affects 6 to 8 percent of people worldwide.
