Improves Physical Endurance and Reduces Fatigue in Menopausal Women
Ginseng is a good energy source and is also high in antioxidants. Together these two factors make ginseng beneficial for reducing fatigue and improving physical endurance.
A study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food compared the effects of Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus) on menopausal symptoms, psychological well-being, and aerobic capacity in menopausal women. The results showed that participants who took a daily dose of Siberian ginseng after four weeks experienced fewer hot flashes, better moods, and improved physical endurance.
The researchers concluded that Siberian ginseng positively affects menopausal symptoms, psychological well-being, and aerobic capacity.
Ginseng is also known to improve overall energy levels for women in menopause. A study published in the European Journal of Applied Physiology compared the effects of Siberian ginseng on physical performance in men and women who engaged in resistance exercise training.
The researchers found that participants who took a daily dose of Siberian ginseng for eight weeks experienced greater endurance, strength, and power during exercise than those taking a placebo.
