Caffeine Consumption
The most famous natural stimulant in the world is caffeine, usually found in coffee, tea, and many other beverages. It functions by stimulating your nervous system and brain, enabling you to remain alert while preventing fatigue’s onset. It also comes with other health benefits, such as improving brain function and mood, boosting fat burning and metabolism, enhancing physical activity performance, and protecting against diseases like cardiovascular conditions and diabetes.
Other advantages of consuming coffee are liver protection, promotion of longevity, decreased risk of cancer, skin protection, lowered chances of multiple sclerosis, prevention of gout, and improved gut health. However, it’s worth noting that coffee contains many other substances that could improve health and wellness. Some of the benefits may also be triggered by substances besides caffeine.
With that said, while coffee consumption is relatively safe, it’s also habit-forming. Excessive caffeine intake can lead to side effects like anxiety, tremors, restlessness, insomnia, and irregular heartbeats. Too much coffee may also cause headaches, hypertension, and gastritis. Therefore, sticking with two to three cups of coffee daily is highly recommended, as it will give you all of its benefits without any adverse reactions.
