Fungal Infection: The 12 Best Treatments You Should Know

Oxiconazole

Oxiconazole is another medication used to treat fungal infections. It functions by either eradicating the fungus or inhibiting its growth. The skin is treated with oxiconazole to cure ringworm of the body (tinea corporis), jock itch (tinea cruris), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), and ringworm of the trunk (tinea versicolor).

Oxiconazole is only available with a doctor’s prescription. There are two dose forms of this product: cream and lotion. Apply oxiconazole to the afflicted skin region and any nearby skin areas as needed, then gently rub it in.

Avoid getting this medication on your mucous membranes, including your eyes, nose, and mouth. In addition, avoid using it in the vagina. After using the product on the afflicted areas, wash your hands. Continue using Oxiconazole even if the symptoms improve after a few days to help your infection clear up.

Use this medication every day for a few weeks or longer since fungus infections can often take a long time to get better. The symptoms may recur if you stop taking this medication too soon. Never skip a dose.
