Eat These 10 Foods High in Serotonin and Be in a Great Mood Always

4. Turkey

L-tryptophan is what turkey is known for. With just 4 oz. of turkey (a very small portion), you are already getting up to 390 mg of L-tryptophan. Red meats have higher saturated fat though so you have to be a bit careful. There is nothing wrong in serving turkey during thanksgiving and some other special occasions.

5. Seafood (shellfish)

Seafood is rich in tryptophan. Shellfish in particular has a lot of it. With a 100g serving, you will get 330 mg of tryptophan or almost 120% of your daily needs. Other seafood like tuna, shrimp, sardines and cod are also rich in tryptophan. Just be careful in eating them frequently as they may also trigger high blood pressure.
