Uveitis
Uveitis is one of the more common eye inflammatory conditions and is a common cause of eye floaters. It’s a condition that can affect one or both eyes — specifically the uvea. However, it’s also known to spread to other parts of the eye, which is why uveitis could lead to blindness if left unchecked. There are instances where uveitis can last a short time and chronic conditions that last much longer. Due to such inflammation, the vitreous is affected, and the strands could clump together and cause eye floaters. As a symptom of uveitis, the eye floaters are the least of your concerns. Inflammation of the eye can be problematic, and most people have a habit of ignoring the warning signs.
Ignoring the warning signs of uveitis is known to cause partial or total vision loss if uveitis affects both eyes. While uveitis is a cause of eye floaters, the exact causes of uveitis are unknown in at least a third of the total cases. The other two-thirds count for eye injury/surgery, infection, and autoimmune diseases, where the body mistakenly attacks healthy tissues.
