Earwax Build Up
The ears protect the ear canals by producing earwax. The earwax naturally moves out of the ears. But the wax can collect and harden, blocking the ear canal and causing the person to lose hearing in one or both ears. As a result, they may feel their ears ache and feel blocked. Sometimes, the individual may hear ringing or popping sounds if the earwax is stuck. In extreme cases, the person can experience dizziness.
One solution is to use almond oil or medical-grade olive oil if earwax blocks the ear canal. Lay the head on its side and put two to three drops of the warmed oil in the ear with a dropper. Repeat it three to four times a day for three to five days. The person should continue laying the head on one side for five to ten minutes to allow the oil to travel through the ear canal. It will take about two weeks for the earwax to soften and break down before falling out. Another solution is to use sodium bicarbonate ear drops. However, if this self-help does not remove the earwax plug, the person should see a doctor who can flush the earwax through ear irrigation.
