Constantly Wearing Socks and Constrictive Footwear
While it can be comfortable to wear socks indoors, it’s a good idea to let your feet breathe from time to time, as you could accumulate sweat if you’re always wearing socks or constrictive footwear. Typically, if you’re indoors, it’s recommended that you wear slippers or other types of footwear that allow your feet to breathe. It’s especially crucial for those who are prone to sweaty feet. Aside from the potential for a less-than-ideal foot odor, it could eventually turn into dyshidrotic eczema, especially in the soles of the feet and the toes. These blisters will make walking more challenging, and can be frustrating to deal with.
If you want to avoid dyshidrosis and the annoying blisters that come with it, ensure your feet always have room to breathe. While it’s OK to wear shoes when going out and attending events, take the time to remove your footwear to prevent potential skin conditions. It’s also not a good idea to take a bath right after wearing constrictive footwear for most of the day, as it can cause even more issues for your feet.
