Managing Your Stress
Stress and anxiety can cause physiological and hormonal changes in the body, potentially leading to skin conditions such as a dry scalp. It doesn’t happen too often, but the body can make things more challenging if you have a habit of getting stressed. It’s the reason why the scalp sometimes feels itchy when you’re feeling anxious or paranoid. Managing stress is crucial, as it can help your body more than lowering the odds of a dry scalp. While the body typically has an adequate stress response, there comes a time when people suffer from stress for too long, that it causes long-term, harmful effects. There is also such a thing as survivor mode, where the brain feels threatened, so the body is on high alert. Unfortunately, there are times when this survivor mode lasts far longer than it should.
To help manage your stress, understand your stressors and take the time to acknowledge why you feel stressed. The first step is understanding your stressors, as knowing is half the battle. Everything else is a process of acknowledging and overcoming your stressors.
