Not Timing the Things You Eat
Sometimes, it’s not just about what you put into your body but when you eat and drink specific foods. Depending on the timing of what you eat, it could potentially cause skin conditions such as a dry scalp. For example, adding fruits to your diet is a good idea as it allows you to detoxify, allowing your body the chance to eliminate harmful toxins and fight off infection. That said, it’s not nearly as effective if you have a habit of eating your fruits after a meal instead of before. Eating fruits on an empty stomach is ideal (outside of fruits that cause acid buildup), as your body benefits the most from fruits if there’s nothing else stopping it during the digestive process.
Even the water you drink is affected by timing. For example, drinking a glass of cold water on an empty stomach — especially during the mornings — is a good idea. It can jumpstart your metabolism and help you feel energized. However, drinking cold water after a heavy meal could potentially harden the oils present in food, making it challenging to digest.
