Diabetes Rash
People who have diabetes tend to be more at risk of developing skin rashes, such as acanthosis nigricans. A high glucose blood content is generally the cause of the symptom. However, it could also be inadequate blood flow to the extremities. Moreover, it can be an indicator of prediabetes. Usually, they clear up once the sugar in the blood is brought back to normal levels. Therefore, a combination of the proper management of diabetes and the right skin care treatment is necessary to prevent problems on the skin that may result in serious infections.
Some rashes that may present themselves to those with diabetes are blisters, diabetes-related dermopathy, digital sclerosis, NLD, and foot syndrome. Many other skin conditions are associated with the disease, so if ever they appear, it’s a general rule of thumb to seek medical assistance to get the proper treatment immediately.
