14 Common Causes of Diabetes You Shouldn’t Ignore

Stroke and Heart Conditions

Stroke and heart conditions are cardiovascular diseases. Also referred to as the circulatory system, it’s composed of the heart and all blood vessels moving and pumping blood that the body requires to function. To a significant extent, the condition of this system is generally determined by one’s lifestyle. Although genetics and age play their respective roles, diet, amount of exercise, and blood pressure influence its state.

The causes of stroke and various heart conditions are usually unhealthy habits and age, leading to stiff and thick heart vessels that may obstruct blood flow. It’s a process called arteriosclerosis, the hardening of arteries. The condition is a type of arteriosclerosis involving fatty substances and plaque build-up, which can totally or partially restrict blood flow. It can also develop in any part of your body.

Cardiovascular diseases are not only the leading cause of mortality in many countries, but they can also give rise to other conditions, not the least of which is diabetes. To avoid these diseases from occurring, eating healthy foods, regularly working out, managing stress, limiting alcohol intake, and quitting smoking habits are a must. Regular check-ups are also recommended.
