Fights Deficiency Syndromes
Creatine deficiency has been linked to several health conditions, including muscle atrophy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), fibromyalgia, congestive heart failure (CHF), multiple sclerosis (MS), osteoarthritis, and diabetes. Oral creatine supplements could offer relief to these illnesses. However, there is no sufficient evidence that they effectively treat most of the mentioned conditions.
The brain may also acquire an increased amount of creatine through supplements. As such, movement disorders, seizures, and autism symptoms might be relieved. Studies also showed that children improved their academic performance, attention, and language after taking oral creatine supplements.
Creatine taken by mouth also increased the level of creatine among young adults with GAMT (guanidinoacetate methyltransferase) deficiency and AGAT (argininie: glycine amidinotransferase) deficiency. However, the creatine levels in the brain of children with disorders that don’t transport creatine properly didn’t improve despite taking creatine.
Researchers noted that the effects of creatine are not the same for everyone. Creatine is a natural substance, but the supplements aren’t naturally produced in the body.
