Apple Cider Vinegar
Scientific evidence supports the antimicrobial and antibacterial capabilities of apple cider vinegar. However, applying apple cider vinegar to a cold sore won’t help it heal since cold sores are brought on by a virus, not a bacterial infection.
However, apple cider vinegar works well in removing dead skin cells. It may therefore hasten the fading of cold sores once they have reached the scabbing stage. It may help lower the likelihood of subsequent infection in a cold sore that already exists due to its antimicrobial characteristics.
According to 2019 research, many people are interested in utilizing apple cider vinegar as a cure since it may have the capacity to combat bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. On the other hand, full-strength apple cider vinegar is too potent to apply straight to a cold sore and may cause severe skin irritation. Therefore, apply it only once or twice daily, and make sure to dilute it before use.
To start, mix water and apple cider vinegar in a 1:10 ratio. Then, until the scabs have healed, apply this solution on a cotton ball and dunk it in it once or twice daily to cold sores.
