Reduces Joint Pain
A Joint is a structure separating two or more adjacent elements of the skeletal system. Since joints accompany movements, these cartilages are often suffering from diseases. One classic example is rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune and inflammatory disease. It causes the immune system to wrongfully attack healthy cells in the body, which causes inflammation or swelling in the affected parts.
Several parts of the body usually suffer from rheumatoid arthritis at once. It commonly affects the joints in the hands, wrists, and knees. A rheumatoid arthritis attack is triggered by the inflammation of the joint lining, causing damage to the joint tissues. This tissue damage can be the source of long-lasting or chronic pain, lack of balance, and deformity.
Some scholars researched the effects of cod liver oil in treating rheumatoid arthritis. It suggests that cod liver oil may reduce joint swelling and pain and improve the stiffness in the joints caused by rheumatoid arthritis. In one study, the participants took a gram of cod liver oil for three months. The study highlighted the effectiveness of the cod liver oil supplement since it removed the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, like morning stiffness, pain, and swelling.
