Vitamin Deficiency
Vitamins and minerals are two of the most important micronutrients needed to boost the body’s immune system and decrease the risk of developing diseases, protect and renew cells and tissues, repair damaged ones, and improve overall health conditions. Vitamins are organic substances from animals and plants; minerals, on the other hand, are inorganic and come from the water and soil that the animals absorb.
Vitamin deficiency can trigger several medical conditions and further complicated health issues. One example is chapped or dried lips. Research states that dry and itchy lips are among the most observable signs of vitamin deficiency, especially in the vitamin B group. Chapped lips occur when there are insufficient vitamins and minerals such as iron (used for oxygen transformation and has a role in skin health), zinc (vital to health and affects the skin), and vitamin B.
Vitamins B9 (folate), B2 (riboflavin), B6, and B12 are essential for oral health. Therefore, the daily diet should contain the right amounts of vitamin B to prevent diseases from entering the body.
