Pregnancy
Pregnancy itself is not the cause of cellulite formation. However, the bodily changes that come with conception can contribute to the appearance of unsightly cellulites. For one, the inevitable weight gain in almost everyone who gets pregnant aids in the emergence of cellulite or the noticeability of already existing cellulite. It is not advisable for pregnant women to slim down or undertake any cosmetic treatment while they are having their babies, so they have no choice but to let the unsightly bumps appear.
Another change in women’s bodies that contribute to cellulite formation is hormone fluctuation. The changes in hormone production in the female body can lead to water retention, the formation of fibroblasts, and the accumulation of fats. These have direct or indirect effects on the appearance of cellulite. Moreover, it naturally follows that pregnant women’s bodies prioritize the nutrition of the child they are carrying. As a result, body processes that previously kept cellulite under control are suspended or reduced.
The good news is that it is not impossible to get rid of pregnancy-induced cellulite once the baby is born and the mother proceeds to lose weight gradually. This can take time and effort, but it is definitely achievable.
