12 Symptoms & Sign Of Calcium Deficiency (Don’t Ignore)

Convulsions

Convulsion is a physical episode manifested through rapid and multiple muscle contractions and spasms that happen involuntarily, which result in uncontrollable shaking of the entire body, and sometimes could lead to unconsciousness. Convulsion is sometimes used as a medical synonym for seizure. A seizure results from abnormal electrical impulses from the cells in the brain and is shown in the body. However, not all seizures result in convulsions. Furthermore, convulsion is common in children as early as 8 months old to 10 years old that have a very high fever (also called febrile seizure). When this occurs, it is necessary to get medical help immediately as there may be a possible underlying health condition.

Apart from fever, convulsions may also happen due to epileptic seizures, febrile seizures, medical reactions, migraine, calcium deficiency, and many other medical conditions. In addition, the body needs important minerals like magnesium, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and sodium, and low amounts of these could result in episodic seizures. Therefore, when a child or an adult is experiencing convulsions, it is best to seek professional care immediately.
