14 Causes & Common Triggers Of Bone Pain (You Should Know)

Pregnancy Pains

Bone pain is also common during pregnancy. Most pains during pregnancy revolve around the pelvic bone, medically referred to as Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) or a PPGP (Pregnancy-related Pelvic Girdle Pain). It is a combination of pubic bone pain and stiffness in the pelvic joints, resulting in difficulty in freely moving around, especially with the growing weight each trimester. Although it is common in pregnancy, PPGP is still considered an abnormality. However, some medical practitioners say SPDs and PPGPs are indicators of a flexible pelvis that can help women during labor.

Unfortunately, bone pain may lead to repeating stress for women with weaker immune systems and possibly result in a miscarriage if appropriate measures are not taken properly. Manual or physical therapy to improve mobility is a good alternative, and water exercises help a lot. Additionally, consulting an OB-Gynecologist or any pregnancy-related health expert for a professional opinion may be considered, especially when pelvic bone pain recurs or worsens with time.
