Skin Discoloration with Enlarged Veins
Skin discoloration and visibly enlarged veins are signs of vein disease. But they often occur in the legs, where varicose veins appear. However, they may also come out in the arms and anywhere in the body. They happen when blood begins to pool, and the veins swell due to increased pressure inside.
Aside from varicose veins, skin discoloration and bulging veins in the arms may also occur due to rising blood pressure or body temperature. They may happen after a strenuous workout when blood flow in the area increases.
Skin discoloration due to varicose veins may come with a leathery and itchy feeling, progressing to painful sores afterward. But if a blood clot causes it, it may come with pain or weakness, a sign that blood is pooling in that part of the body. It is essential to know where the bulging is sourced. It could be a sign of vascular disease, or a medical emergency.
