Rapid Heart Rate
Irregular heartbeat or palpitation is another symptom of a blood clot in the arm. While it may not be cause for concern most of the time, it could also lead to serious health troubles if left untreated.
A regular heart rate for resting adults is 60 to 100 beats per minute. Since many factors may influence heart rate, it is pretty challenging to tell at first sight if it should be a cause for medical concern. For example, the average heart rate per person differs according to age, fitness levels, smoking history, body size, medications, emotions, and even body positions. People with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or high cholesterol levels may also have a different average. But although there is a wide range of what is normal, having an unusually high or low heart rate may indicate an underlying health problem.
A heart rate of over 100 beats per minute consistently is a cause for concern, and so does an average of below 60, especially if it comes with other symptoms like lightheadedness, shortness of breath, and chest pain. It may be due to many things, and a blood clot in the arm is one of the possible triggers.
