Constipation
Constipation occurs when stool movement becomes very slow, causing several discomforts, including abdominal bloating. Constipated people do not pass stools regularly and may even strain themselves excessively to have a bowel movement. They also have less than three bowel movements per week and often have symptoms that already interfere with performing their daily tasks.
Although it may sometimes look like a common issue accompanying indigestion, it is not always wise to take constipation lightly. If the difficult passage of stools persists for weeks, it is time to schedule an appointment with a medical practitioner. Apart from indigestion, there could be a serious health issue behind the condition, and doctors need to know for sure what it is. Constipation may be due to bowel obstruction, rectum bulge, rectal cancer, colon cancer, or other types of abdominal cancer that presses on the colon.
The prescribed treatment for constipation depends on what is causing it. But it must be resolved immediately because when body wastes are not eliminated effectively, it could lead to complications like hemorrhoids, rectal prolapse, fecal impaction, and anal fissure.
