Tight Underwear or Undergarments
Men use it as an article of protective clothing for their genitals. Men can wear boxers, briefs, shorts, or long underwear. Men should choose undergarments that fit their genital size to ensure comfort and avoid complications. Underwear should not be baggy nor skin-tight. The main goal of undergarments is to protect the wearer’s genitals from external forces, too much friction, and sweat.
Some men prefer wearing tight underwear since they keep their genitals in place and avoid being squeezed between the thighs. Tight underwear is also designed to maintain the scrotum in its place. However, there are some demerits to wearing skin-tight underwear. First, they can reduce a man’s sperm count since they restrict the nerves in the testicles. They can also cause skin cutting, pressure built up, penis fracture, and erection problems. To top it all, wearing tight underwear can lead to infections and inflammation.
The pressure caused by wearing tight underwear can block the blood vessels in the scrotum and penis. This can result in erectile dysfunction, urinary tract infection, skin diseases, and balanitis. In addition, tight underwear can squeeze the scrotum and foreskin against the penis and two thighs which can cause intense friction. After a while, the foreskin will be irritated from moving to and from with the underwear, developing rashes, redness, and inflammation.
Fashion should not lead to discomfort and pain. So, experts advise men to look for underwear that is comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. Underwear should keep their genitals in place while giving them enough room to breathe to avoid moisture, sweat, and urine from pooling.
