Too Much Masturbation
Masturbation is defined as the manipulation or stimulation of a person’s own genitals to experience pleasure and orgasm. Although negative views surround it, masturbation is a normal sexual activity. It is common among sexually conscious teenagers and young adults. Men and women masturbate for many reasons. Some masturbate for pleasure, fun, and enjoyment, while others do it to release their body tension.
In general, masturbation is harmless. However, some people (especially men) take it too far. Frequent masturbation may cause chafing. Chafing is a skin condition caused by too much moisture and friction. Prolonged handling and rubbing of the penis can make the skin burn, tear, hurt, or swell. Rashes, bleeding, and crusting may also occur, leading to balanitis.
Balanitis caused by masturbation may disappear in a couple of days or weeks if the wounds caused by too much friction and moisture are healed, and the person stops masturbating in the meantime.
