12 Symptoms of Arthritis: Early Signs You Shouldn’t Ignore

Frequent Fevers

Fever is a very common symptom among most diseases, and inflammatory arthritis is one of them. In most types of arthritis, joint inflammation can lead to body chills and frequent slight fever. Other symptoms like headache and rising temperature are also observed. In severe cases, the inflammations may cause high fever in persons with widespread rheumatoid arthritis. This is due to the disease affecting other parts of the body, causing an involuntary reaction from the immune system to try and control the spread of the infection but wrongly attacking the body tissues in response.

Low-grade fevers are common for other types of arthritis (except for osteoarthritis). Slight fevers are expected with arthritis, especially with age, and common medication may help for mild headaches caused by the fever. The person is expected to quickly recover with ample rest and light to moderate physical activity. High-grade fever is rather alarming and calls for a professional opinion. Additionally, if high fevers become too often experienced, it is best to contact a physician for medical diagnosis and countermeasures.
