Not Brushing Your Teeth Before Bed
As a child, you were likely told to brush your teeth right before bed by your parents. It’s a crucial best-practice method, as brushing your teeth before bed has so many health benefits. Spending the next several hours asleep gives the bacteria a chance to build and thrive, which can lead to plenty of problems if you have a habit of going to bed without taking the time to care for your oral health. Naturally, those who don’t brush their teeth before bed could have various issues, including angular cheilitis due to bacteria buildup in the mouth. While there are times when a fungal infection causes angular cheilitis, it’s much easier for angular cheilitis to occur for those with plenty of bacteria in their mouths.
It’s a shame that many people forget to do so, as it’s an easy habit to maintain. Brushing one’s teeth is second nature to just about everyone, similar to washing up before bed. That said, some people don’t bother washing up before bed, which is likely the same people who refuse to brush their teeth before sleeping.
