Anal Prolapse
While there are many different causes of anal bleeding, one of the most anxiety-inducing is anal prolapse. Due to other reasons, the rectal tissue can end up weakening, often to the point where the rectum can start pushing forward. The tissues weaken to the point of the rectum bulging out of the anus, called an anal prolapse. There are various reasons why an anal prolapse can occur, and it’s unfortunate when the tissues weaken enough for a prolapse. Typically, an anal prolapse will have symptoms such as extreme pain and anal bleeding. Unlike many other causes on this list, anal bleeding due to a prolapse cannot wait. It’s not a benign or non-serious condition requiring you to head to the doctor as soon as possible.
The good news is anal prolapse is treatable through surgery, and you can limit the damage immediately. Anal bleeding can be scary, but prolapse is another story. While anal bleeding typically has a non-severe underlying condition, anal prolapse is an obvious sign that something is wrong. Medical intervention is necessary, as your prolapse is treated through a surgical procedure.
