Constipation
Constipation is the hardening of the stool, which can cause all sorts of (minor) issues for those with questionable lifestyle habits. Typically, the reason why people become constipated is due to the lack of a healthy diet. As a result, without the necessary fiber in the body, the digestion process slows down, and the stool hardens. The hardened stool will result in more strained bowel movements, which could potentially cause fissures. Anal fissures already have a spot on the list as one of the reasons for anal bleeding, though constipation can cause more issues. In addition, straining in an attempt to relieve constipation could cause pressure in the body and lead to diverticulitis.
While constipation is usually not a problem on its own, it can end up causing all sorts of issues if you don’t deal with it in a timely fashion. There are stool softeners available that can help relieve you of constipation, but that’s only the first step. To ensure constipation doesn’t happen too often, it’s best to make a few lifestyle changes. Otherwise, constant constipation can lead to other conditions which cause anal bleeding.
