9 Acid Reflux Symptoms You Should Know (Early Signs)

Vomiting

Another potential symptom of acid reflux is vomiting. It is an escalation of regurgitation and results from nausea caused by reflux. Many people will feel that they need to vomit because of stomach discomfort. While vomiting can be unpleasant, it can also relieve some of the pain that acid reflex causes. It is because vomiting is one of the body’s self-defense mechanisms and helps expel any toxins in the stomach. While that is not a problem with acid reflux, vomiting does help empty it so that its contents will stay inside.

People should take the vomiting as a warning sign and not eat or drink anything for the next few hours. They should only sip some water or suck on ice chips every 15 minutes. It will help calm the stomach and soothe the esophagus since that is where the vomit passes. Afterward, people should only have light and bland meals to avoid stressing stomachs.
