Hip Flexor Strain
A hip flexor is a muscle that keeps the hip moving and the knee bending. This muscle is on the front of the thigh and pelvic area. These are important since they make the body keep its balance. Certain conditions, such as hip flexor strain, result in overusing the hip flexor. Most of the daily activities are done with the help of hip flexors. Examples of activities are walking, sitting, running, and standing. These activities may injure the hip flexor when done over a long period. Injuries can also cause hip flexor strain. Overstretching and overusing while engaging in physical activity may strain the hip flexor.
Hip flexor strain causes thigh pain. This is due to the location of the hip flexor in the body. It can be found in the front area, where the thighs and the hips meet. When this muscle is strained, it causes soreness, irritation, and pain in the thigh area. Depending on the extent of the injury sustained, it may leave the body unable to perform daily tasks.
