Burning Sensation
A burning sensation is defined as a pain distinct from a dull, stabbing, constant pain. While it does feel discomforting, it can be caused by several possible causes, such as infections, injuries, and autoimmune diseases. In addition, a burning sensation can indicate nerve damage in the affected area.
People suffering from plantar fasciitis can feel the burning sensation in connection with first-step pain. Podiatrists believe this is possible because of the stiffness and reaction of the body to the sudden weight being placed on the feet after a time of being at rest. The tendon needs some time to stretch properly and when the movement forces the tendon to react too quickly, the pain and burning sensation manifest.
The burning sensation manifests that something could be wrong with the nervous system. The nervous system is comprised of the peripheral nervous system and the central nervous system. Damage to any nerve in the system can lead to a burning sensation and could indicate bigger problems if found related to spine or nerve conditions.
Health experts would run several tests to ensure that the burning sensation is localized and controlled. Then, they could recommend taking prescription medicines, weight loss, surgery, or physical therapy to manage the condition.
