Increases Athletic Performance
MCT oil increases a person’s athletic performance due to its lactic acid control property. Lactic acid is a by-product of the muscles whenever it makes energy aerobically. When the lactic acid increases, the muscle gets tired and may not do contractions well. The increased lactic acid can also cause a burning sensation in the muscle during an exercise.
There are various ways to get rid of lactic acid. One of these is decreasing the intensity of the exercise. A person may also rest and take deep breaths during an exercise or make an active recovery or low-intensity movements, such as yoga, walking, biking, or foam rolling. Aside from these, taking MCT or medium-chain triglyceride oil can also lower or reduce the lactic acid buildup in the body.
A study was made where cyclists took 1.5 teaspoons of MCT. The test results showed that the MCT oil is an effective lowering agent of lactic acid buildup, especially when exercising. This test also concluded that MCTs are more effective than LCTs.
