Multiple myeloma is a bone marrow cancer that occurs when plasma cells grow uncontrollably in the bone marrow. This condition can cause low levels of lymphocytes and platelets, as well as anemia and kidney failure. Some studies have shown that there may be a link between CLL and Epstein-Barr virus infection, heavy alcohol consumption, and radiation exposure through medical therapies, which include x-rays used during cancer treatment sessions.
